Flight Simulator X Acceleration has ceased to work properly on Windows 10 Pro, though it had worked some months previously. At launch the error message appears: An unexpected error occured which is preventing product activation. Error code: 1-80004005.Another non-Microsoft game had a similar problem, asking me to verify the serial number for a downloaded game. Support from the distributor indicated the problem was in a recent upgrade to Windows 10 that broke the verification process for some older games.I suspect that's the issue here. How do I correct this error condition and/or complete activation?
Microsoft FSX is still selling at most software outlets, even Walmart so to say Microsoft has nothing to do with FSX is incorrect They are no longer developing it or improving it but they are still selling it. So the activation site has to remain open.FS2004 needed a cd to run but FSX doesn't but it does require activation.I applaud Dovetail for taking it on but they must make improvements. At present the Boxed version is much more stable. FSXSE crashes or loses scenery because of Dll conflicts.
That has to be addressed.As far as FPS and smoothness is concerned, FSX Gold Edition with the acceleration pack installed does just as well as the SE version.This is just my opinion since I have both. SE runs much better and crashes less. Its not perfect, but it's a lot better.
